This journey takes you through coniferous taiga, part of the world’s largest forest, in an area of unusual sedimentary rocks. The forest floor is carpeted with springy sphagnum moss, and Siberian stone pines and larch are frequently seen. Wonderful campsites, culture, and scenery will make this a memorable trip for everyone. This tour can be combined with the Chuya white-water rafting in a group to extend your journey.
After arriving at Barnaul airport you will transfer to the settlement of Beliy Bom in the Altai Mountains before arriving at your first camp, Sargaldjuk brook. The next morning you will meet your guides and make friends with your transport, the fantastic Altaic horses. You will ride to Karakelskoye table and overnight at a lakeside location. Spend the next few days riding along the beautiful rivers of Shavla and Shabaga and the Shavlinskoye Lakeshore, camping in different locations each night. Next ride to the Karakelskoye tableland and return the horses to their farm before spending your last night in a hotel in Barnaul.
